Principals Message January 2020

Yá'át'ééh, Greetings Sand Devil Families,

Happy New Year Sand Devil Nation!  We are excited to start a new semester with our students.  I am most looking forward to celebrating the successes of our students this month while also focusing on their health.

We will have grade-level assemblies this month where certified counselors will speak with our students about mental health and the various supports we have at school and in our community.  These assemblies will be for 9th, 11th, and 12th graders as our 10th graders participated in this assembly in December. Your student will bring home a letter regarding these assemblies.

Our students had a great first semester in the classroom!  Look for our first semester honor roll lists in the Lake Powell Chronicle soon!  We had 45% of our students earn a 3.0 GPA or higher last semester.  On top of that, 81% of our students earned all of their first semester credits.  And 54% of our students earned C’s or better for their transcripts.  (We have been tracking the amount of students that are earning C’s or better in all of their classes each time we run an eligibility report.  As an AVID school, we are called to look at this information and evaluate our programs to achieve and sustain 70% of our students earning C’s or better in their classes.)

Our second semester after-school programming has begun.  Please contact Brian Henderson, our assistant principal, for more details (928-608-4185).

We will meet up with our Class of 2024 parents on January 22.  Winter homecoming or Hoopcoming will be the week of January 27 with our annual Sadie Hawkins dance on January 31.  Follow our Page High School Sand Devils Facebook page for reminders about events and more updates regarding the great things going on at Page High School.

As always, I am interested in your feedback and hope you will reach out to me when you have the need.  Thank you for your support and trust!

‘Ahéhee’, Thank you,
